Organic Almond Maple Granola

PREP TIME: 20 Min
COOK TIME: 1 Hr 15 Min
READY IN: 1 Hr 35 Min

Yield: 8 servings

INGREDIENTS
3 cups organic rolled oats
1 cup chopped organic almonds
1/4 cup organic wheat germ
1 (14 ounce) organic coconut
1/3 cup unsalted organic sunflower seeds (optional)
6 tablespoons pure organic maple syrup
6 tablespoons packed organic dark brown sugar
1/4 cup organic vegetable oil
2 tablespoons warm water
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup organic raisins

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Lightly grease a cookie sheet with sides, or a large cake pan. We like to use coconut oil.

In a large bowl, toss together the oats, almonds, wheat germ, coconut, and sunflower seeds. In a separate bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, oil, water and salt. Pour the liquid over the oat and nut mixture, and stir until evenly coated. If you are not too squeamish you can use your hands and sort of kneed it like dough to get it mixed. Works great! Distribute on the prepared cookie sheet. If you want some chunky bits, squeeze some small handfuls into little clumps.

Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes in the preheated oven, stirring occasionally (10-15 minutes) until evenly toasted. Mix in the raisins. Cool, and store in an airtight container at room temperature.

This recipe also works well with non-organic ingredients.
