Almond Granola Recipe

2 cups old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup wheat germ
3/4 cup almonds (chopped, halved, or slivered)
2 tablespoon light brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt (we recommend sea salt because of its healthful qualities)
1/4 cup maple syrup
3 tablespoon canola oil or coconut oil
1 tablespoon water

Preheat oven: 275 degrees.
Lightly oil baking sheet.
In a large bowl, mix oats, wheat germ, sugar, salt, and almonds.
Warm but do not boil syrup, oil, and water in a saucepan over low heat.
Pour hot mixture over oat mixture and toss until combined.
Pour mixture onto prepared pan.
Bake for 30 minutes, stir, and bake for another 15 minutes, until golden brown.
Let cool and store in an airtight container, for up to 2 weeks.
